Are you spending the summer on the Outer
Banks? Are you looking for something exciting to fill your
time? Consider volunteering at the aquarium as an interpreter!
As a volunteer, you will help visitors learn about coastal
North Carolina animals and habitats, meet new people and
give back to the Outer Banks community. This program is
looking for people with the desire to share information with
the visitors in an interactive and hand’s on way.
Volunteers are required to commit to one 2-hour shift a
week for a period of 10 consecutive weeks during the months
of June, July and August. Summer volunteers are provided
with an orientation to the aquarium and volunteer program
with special training on animals and interpretation techniques.
This is a great opportunity for college students who would
like to gain experience in an aquarium setting as well as
summer vacationers who want to learn and share information
about North Carolina animals and habitats.
